Linux at Heart, but Keeping an Open Mind
A reluctant but curious journey into the world of Windows servers.
Recently, I got the chance to go deep on a new application — and I had mixed feelings about it.
Excited? Yes.
Reluctant? Also yes.
Why?
Because the app doesn’t run on Linux — and I’ve always been in the Linux-first camp when it comes to servers.
Windows servers? That’s… not really my comfort zone.
(And to be honest, I’ve never been a big fan of Windows in server environments.)
But I’m choosing to stay open.
An opportunity to explore something new — even if it’s outside my usual toolset.
A few seasoned folks told me:
“If you’re comfortable with Linux, Windows should be easy — at least from a debugging perspective.”
I’m holding onto that encouragement.
(Still not launching PowerShell ISE willingly… yet.)
Ever had to dive into a tech stack you didn’t want to touch at first?
How did it turn out?
